Notes and Ideas
First day back for studio Practice, I set myself homework for that week.
Making a list of Comfortable and Uncomfortable things to do with my life.
I will find out and generate ideas that come to mind from this list.
Ideas
My original idea for this project was to paint on a canvas of a teddy bear with graphic guts hanging out of it, so I then drew some thumb nails of teddy bear movements and also some ruff sketches of a bear.

Sketches
I was then told to use only 3 colors to limit my self and to also like my final out come of my work.
So I then had to change my idea about the teddy sticking with the same plan but instead of using a teddy bear, I would use a image of my dog. As this was the time frame for the Ebola out break, It also started with animals. I was so hung up about this problem, that it was all that was only mind for the time being so it kind of had a link with my idea.
Images of my dog lying down.
Over time I decided to change and generate my idea completely more so along the lines of a human figure. I found that my nation was not anything to do with the animal kingdom or cartoonish teddy bear but to leap out of my comfort zone and doing the back view of a womans figure.
I wanted to add a tattoo to the woman's back with no meaning at all but just adding to the painting in general working with the colour in groups of 3 .
I started with a ruff drawing to get me motivated.
From this drawing I have started my painting
As I
have worked on my painting I have noticed some flaws and Changes I need to make to make this painting better. I have added a sheet going over her shoulder and around her back, Fixing some of the facial features and other areas to the painting that can be adjusted, I have also removed the black feather on top of the skull and adding my 3 color option in some places.

My proses through out this painting.
When I started this image I started with painting the skin gradually going up in layering like proses,
as I was painting her skin I used acrylic paints white back and gray, first I started with the under coat of the skin then coming back to it building up another layer. I then started on her hair, again using black grey and white acrylic paints as I got 90% of her hair done I started with and under coat of the flowers in her hair using red acrylic gradually building up that red tone brightening up the image, next I started on the image/tattoo on her back after removing the feather on top of the skull I had a problem with the image, it was not to my standards so I added in some extra beads and crosses under the skull. As the image was coming together I was starting to think that I should of work on a black canvas instead of white, then I thought I could paint the background black, After some thinking I came to realise I did not want to make that change to the image and that I have come to really like the white background lightening the painting instead of being to dark.
During the time I was painting the face after 3 or more attempts I am finally happy with the out come of the facial structure mainly the lips/mouth I was having trouble with, being consistent and taking my time Ive come to really enjoy my painting.
My final thoughts.
I found that this project for me was a challenge in its self, having to come up with and idea or plan that fits to the breff description. Other than that I really enjoyed the the problem solving every time something came up. I think I have reached my standards to this project evolving and regenerating my ideas to their fullest even if it is fulling changing my original plan/ideas its all part of the learning proses, I also had the conversation of only using 3 colors and I admit I was not happy about it but I really like my final out come witch was part of the idea of only using limited colors.
