Studio Practace groups..
Week 3 put into groups, including Lani, Jay, Chad, Shane and myself
Notes and Ideas:
* Rafters- using toilet paper and throwing it over the bars in F block, in one section of the room we could use.
* Make a bunch of 3D objects/shapes hanging in the air with fishing line.
* Make an art object out of paper and hang up to make it look as if the roof is falling or collapsing.
* Take photos of the pillars/rafters and roof, print squar then hang from all corners. So when people look up they can see the same image but closer and on paper also hanging from different lengths.
* Take and Print the images of F-block then cut out the template on the photos and make the object from that template.
To much to reflect on F-block.
* Pyramid made out of mirrors, reflecting the inside view of the building.
Just a more advanced idea.
* One big pyramid - one at the top - 4 in the middle sides and 4 on the floor in the corners.
Top pyramid - no bottom gives the idea of a hollow pyramid.
Side pyramid - only two sided, this gives only selected sides of the pyramid.
Bottom four - two sides plus bottom. This gives ides of a full pyramid but hollow and allows you to walk through it and exsperance it from different aspects and views.
* Still the same idea, of a large pyramid, selected earas of the triangle will look like a exploded 3D collage cutout idea of a pyramid with cardboard panels using fishing line to hang it.
As we got started to make our pyramid we found out that our original idea was not going to work out.
So we then came up with another idea, that was to still go with the pyramid idea but instead of using cardboard, we went with using coloured wool and go around the pyramid shape that we had and have it using a large part of space in F Block.
Finished pyramid, shown above.
Exaltation of the not noticed.
For the first week back at witt, our task for the day was to take a small or not so noticeable part of one of our works we have done in class and reproduce that detail in some appropriate form so that it is completely unrecognisable from the original.
I decided on completely making a new image that day, taking a small insignificant part and making it noticeable to the human eye that can't be unseen.
This is the image i made on the left and this is my final image on the right. I took a small marking on her chin, rotated it and contrasted it making it more vibrant.
Tools i used were black ink pen and where you see red i used red lipstick.
I found that i really like my final image as i have never done this before or even worked with lipstick in one of my works.
